The woman, who has not been named, was found dead on Tuesday morning at 10 Victoria Street.
The man was arrested at 2.50 pm the same day and has been held in police custody before being released on Thursday.
In a short statement, a States police spokeswoman said: ‘We can confirm that the 58-year-old suspect, arrested on Tuesday 4 April has been released on police bail, pending ongoing inquiries.’
Detective Superintendent Stewart Gull said earlier this week that the force were keeping an ‘open mind’ as to whether other ‘parties’ may have been involved.
He said three others were being treated as ‘key and significant witnesses’.
