At around 3.30 pm the Grainville pupil, who was uninjured, was struck by a wing mirror while walking down the hill on the pavement, which caused him to fall into a wall.
The vehicle which struck him was travelling towards Five Oaks and did not stop.
The police, who have no description of the vehicle at this time, would like witnesses to contact them on 612612.
