Wait continues for first-time buyers

St Martin’s Housing Association’s application for the three-bedroom houses in a field in Grande Route de Faldouet was turned down as the Planning Committee was concerned about the impact the development would have on neighbouring properties.

St Martin Constable Michel Le Troquer said that with 75 parishioners on a waiting list for the homes, the association was very disappointed by the decision.

‘We have taken the committee’s advice and comments on board and we shall be looking at the design again, and we intend to resubmit amended plans,’ he said. ‘We are very disappointed considering that the Planning Department recommended approval and yet the committee decided to refuse it.
