PRISONERS from La Moye have provided work for an art and craft exhibition for the ninth year running.

Their art is due to be exhibited at the Harbour Gallery in St Aubin from this Friday until 2 April and the event is due to be formally opened by the Lieutenant-Governor, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton, and Lady Dalton on Thursday evening.

This year the prisoners have produced more than 60 pieces of art and craft for the exhibition. These include paintings, drawings, ceramics and woodwork.

Lucy Blackmore, an art teacher who has been running painting and drawing classes at La Moye for nine years, said: ‘The enthusiasm and talent among the prisoner population is considerable and continues to grow every year.
