A number of events are planned, including a performance by dancers from the Cannon O’Rafferty School of Irish dancing at the Pomme d’Or Hotel from 4.30 pm, with St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft officially launching the celebrations.
There will also be live music from guests from Ireland and France and ceili dancers at the free event, open to everyone.
Earlier in the day a Mass and the distribution of shamrock will take place at St Mary and St Peter’s Catholic Church at 11 am, a golf match will be held at La Moye GC and there will be a reception at the Town Hall between 1 pm and 5 pm.
On Saturday evening a celebration ball will be held at Hotel L’Horizon at which Celtic Symphony from Donegal will be performing.
