Guardian angels for Islanders in need

Looking out for these people is the work of Jersey’s Community Support Teams, which offer assistance to Islanders so that they can live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.

The first Community Support Team was formed in St Clement in 2009 following the replacement of the Parish Welfare system by the centrally administered Income Support system the previous year.

Now St Martin, St Lawrence, St Ouen, St Brelade, St Peter, Grouville and Trinity all have Community Support Teams.

Anyone needing assistance can ring the parish hall between Monday to Friday all day and the team will then find the right volunteer to complete the job.

Anyone wanting to access the support must fill out a form and hand it back to the parish hall.
