One man claims he saw the individual ‘smash’ the blade into the bonnet of a parked 4×4 car before walking down Marett Road and allegedly hitting another vehicle.
Another witness said he saw him enter the Petisco Tradicional café on Roseville street carrying the blade.
Police were called to the scene at around 4.30 pm and the man was arrested.
He was still in custody yesterday.
