Teenage girl ‘used Albert Pier area as private racetrack’

The girl performed handbrake turns, doughnuts and wheel-spins on the pier and left a passer-by so scared that he had to pull his friend out of the way as he feared they were going to be knocked down.

The Magistrate’s Court heard that the witness was sitting at the Albert Pier Café on the evening of 4 August when he saw the girl’s car heading towards them.

The witness said that the car was being driven at high revs in first gear.

The car was then driven at high speed in the other direction before it entered a parking area, where the defendant started doing doughnuts after having performed handbrake turns and wheel-spins.
