A series of low pressures moving north east close to the Channel have promoted good conditions for wave riders.
But with the water temperature down at around 10?C, even the bravest have to rely on thick winter wetsuits, as well as gloves, boots and hoods to combat the cold.
The sizeable swell is likely to continue before dropping off on Friday, but forecasters are predicting the waves will return shortly after the dip.
