Centenier returns to honorary work in St Saviour

Michael William Byrne first joined the honorary force in 1993 and served until 2004 in a number of roles, including Constable’s officer, Vingtenier and Centenier.

He left the force for more than a decade, but returned in 2014 and was appointed yesterday as a Centenier after being elected unopposed earlier this week.

Since 2014, Mr Byrne has served as both a Constable’s officer and a Vingtenier.

Meanwhile, St Brelade has appointed a new Constable’s officer. Liviu Costel Olauru appeared before the court yesterday to take the oath of office.

The 35-year-old was sworn in by the Bailiff, William Bailhache.
