Website on the way for landlords and tenants

Earlier this year the States announced plans to introduce laws clamping down on poor-quality housing in the Island, with the Environmental Health Department claiming that nearly a third of rental accommodation in Jersey is sub-standard.

If approved, new legislation will soon allow the States to order landlords to upgrade properties if they do not meet certain standards.

A new voluntary landlord accreditation scheme was also launched in July, which publishes ratings following property inspections online.
