Last week a Guernsey fisherman was filmed attempting to reel in a porbeagle shark after hooking it while fishing for mackerel in St Peter Port Harbour.
Meanwhile, Mick Ward, the owner of Mr Fish tackle shop, said that he had heard of a number of porbeagles being accidentally hooked in Jersey’s waters.
Tony Heart, skipper of Anna II, said that he was fishing for eels when he managed to snag a shark.
