Budget airlines’ credit card fees ‘breach rules’

The companies – including Ryanair, Monarch and Norwegian Air – have appeared in a report published by Fairer Finance which looked at charges levied by airlines when using credit cards to book flights.

However, Flybe claim they are working within established guidelines.

According to rules set out under Consumer Protection Regulations 2012, businesses may only charge for costs incurred and may not exceed 0.6 per cent of the bill.
