Homes across the parish have received electoral documents that are addressed to them but include the names of their neighbours or other residents of the parish.
In total, 4,743 of the 19,256 electoral statements issued have been affected and the parish has apologised for the ‘administrative error’ and has moved to reassure Islanders that their electoral details and rights are unaffected.
According to the parish, the error occurred during the manual process of splitting District 3 of St Helier into two separate areas, which is done to make the voting process easier and those who have received the wrong documents are asked to cross out the incorrect names and replace them with right ones.
