Beaulieu hired in CRY challenge

A group of Year 10 students from Beaulieu and Jersey College for Girls were taking part in the inaugural CRY Jersey Apprentice Challenge, which aimed to develop their skills in a number of areas, including planning, organisation, creativity, teamwork and motivating others, while raising much-needed funds for the charity.

The students sourced their own stock from donations given by fellow students and their families, set their own prices, designed their own window displays and carried out their own marketing campaigns in order to raise money for the charity.

The results were announced at the weekend by Jersey’s own version of Alan Sugar – Chief Minister, Ian Gorst – and the winners raised a total of £2,996, which included a cheque for £250 from the Sir John Knott Trust and a donation of £684 from HRair Express Solutions who pledged 30p for every £1 raised. They are donating the money to the Hosanna Children’s Home in Myanmar, which the CRY Jersey charity has been supporting since 2012.
