Officers from the inspectorate and the Planning Department on Monday met structural engineers and Rok Construction at the former Hotel La Tour site in St Aubin’s High Street.
Stabilisation works are now in progress after tonnes of earth collapsed into the site in the early hours of Saturday morning, resulting in eight people being evacuated from their homes – four have now been able to return home and it is hoped that a decision on when the other eight residents will be able to return will be made on Wednesday.
Mont de la Rocque and the High Street remained closed on Tuesday morning following concerns that further landslips could undermine the road above the site.
