Grouville School to Major Tim

Year 1 pupils at Grouville School watched the historic moment when Britain’s first astronaut with the European Space Agency made the walk to fix a failed electrical box that regulates power from the station’s solar panels.

The pupils, who are aged five and six, are currently studying space and have been keeping up with Mr Peake’s exploits as part of the topic.

Teacher Katie Key said that because the subject had captured the children’s imagination she has been having to carry out additional research herself to answer their questions, including how astronauts go to the toilet in space.
