Plémont headland: What a difference a year makes…

Last summer, the States Chamber approved a grant of £3.57m for the Trust – enabling it to purchase the area for more than £7m, demolish the old holiday camp and return the site to nature.

Demolition started in September, involving the removal of asbestos and tonnes of glass and rubble from the former tourism hot-spot, and the majority of the work was completed by March this year.

To commemorate the change seen over the last 365 days, the Trust arranged for pictures of Plémont to be taken by photographer Chris Brookes using a drone camera.

With newly-seeded grass slowly growing and the site starting to blend in with the surrounding headland, the former holiday camp is but a fading memory.
