The company has invested £2.2 million to buy and refurbish the former Horseplay site spanning Sand Street and York Street.
Planning permission has also been granted for a further £30 million project to create a superstore in Ann Street which will sell products from the supermarket giant, with work expected to begin in the second half of next year.
