Jonathan Segal, managing director of the Modern Group which owns the hotel, said that ‘only a very small number’ of permanent jobs were at risk and that all staff were told yesterday about the decision to give them ample time to find other jobs.
The building has been sold to a developer and the plan is for it to be converted into flats.
