A total of 6,074 children from more than 500 schools in 44 countries and territories entered the junior section of this year’s contest – open to 13-year-olds and under – the theme of which was Team Commonwealth. Max’s entry was an account of his experiences of trying to be a team player, culminating in a visit to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.
