States close the door on Sunday shopping move

And yesterday in the States, Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean proposed a trial period allowing shops whose retail space is greater than 700 square metres to request permits to open on as many Sundays as they like.

But the Assembly rejected the proposition by 34 votes to seven with one abstention.
