St Clement Deputy Gerard Baudains said that the event, which is organised by the Classic & Vintage Motor Racing Club of Jersey, is ‘not likely’ to run next year because it is costing the organisers money.
The Deputy was asking Economic Minister Alan Maclean if his department was giving any financial or practical support to the event and whether the tourism benefits had been calculated.
Senator Maclean said that no requests for event funding from his department had been made this year and that he would be prepared to work with organisers to help put together a business plan.
