St Peter hold back the tide

The home team carved out a catalogue of opportunities but they either squandered them or had them saved by St Peter goalkeeper Oliver Reynolds.

St Paul’s coach Jean-Paul Martyn said: ‘We played really well but it was a bad day in front of goal. We created chance after chance but we did not take them or we shot straight at their goalkeeper.

‘Nick Carpenter had an excellent game on the left flank, he had the ability to repeatedly open up St Peter’s defence and he created some good chances for us.’

St Peter manager Nigel Godfrey said: ‘It was a great result for us because St Paul’s have been notching up some big scores this season.’
