A COW rescued by Jersey firefighters after getting stuck under a gate last summer has given birth to a healthy calf – and the crew who freed her were thanked again in a very special way this week.
Meep Meep became trapped at Clairval organic dairy farm in St Saviour, prompting a call to Green Watch from Jersey Fire and Rescue Service.
She was safely freed, but there were concerns the stress might impact her ability to calve.
However, the Jersey Fire and Rescue team shared what they described as “mooo-velous” news this week: Meep Meep gave birth to a healthy heifer at sunrise on Wednesday.

To celebrate the birth, Clairval farmer Zoe Marshall invited Green Watch to meet the calf, but also gave them the honour of naming her.
In a nod to their crew’s name, they opted for Jade.
