A PANEL of five people have been appointed as members of the Jersey Electoral Authority.
First set up in 2022, the authority is responsible for overseeing elections in Jersey, and recently the Privileges and Procedures Committee sought candidates to join, with interviews taking place last month.
The new chair of the authority will be Michael Marett-Crosby, who has extensive experience in electoral matters and has also worked on humanitarian relief projects in Burma.
Eleanor Sharples has been reappointed to the authority for a fresh four-year term and will be joined by three new members: Thomas Lyons, Johannes Martinson and Advocate Matthew Swann.
In announcing the appointments, the Privileges and Procedures Committee thanked departing chair John Everett and member Alex Hodnett.
