Suyin Geddes was parked outside The Kitchen café in Gorey Village when she says that someone reversed into her Mercedes A-Class – heavily damaging its front bumper and grill – before driving off.
In a post on Facebook, she said: ‘Jersey community unite! I parked my car in Gorey Village outside The Kitchen café to visit my mum and someone hit my car and drove off without leaving their details.
‘It happened between 1.30pm and 3pm, and I suspect in a panic, after hitting my car they smashed their driver’s side back lights which were left on the road.
‘Looks like it may have been a white car with a black bumper but not sure at this time. I’d really appreciate it if anyone has any information. Thank you.’
Grouville honorary police have now launched an investigation, and Centenier Nick Andrews has described the incident as ‘disappointing’.
‘If anyone has any information I would
urge them to please get in contact. At the
moment it is a little difficult because we
do not yet have any witnesses,’ he said.
‘It was not just a little accident, they would have definitely known about it.’
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Grouville duty centenier on 07797 710321.
