Knife robbery update – do you know this man?

The man walked into Samarès Stores, in St Clement’s Main Road, St Clement, at around 5.20 pm on Friday and demanded that a female member of staff hand over cash.

He left empty handed and no one was injured, but the police have advised that members of the public do not approach him. On Friday evening, they issued an appeal asking for help identifying the tracksuit-wearing offender and have today released more photographs of him as their investigation continues.

A statement issued by the States force Saturday afternoon said: ‘Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a male wearing a dark hooded jacket with grey tracksuit bottoms walking in the area of Samarès Stores at approximately 1720 and 1800 hours on Friday 9 March 2018. We believe the dark jacket may have been removed prior to the incident.’

Investigating officers are also appealing to anyone who may have been at the shop between the pertinent times to contact them.

Anyone who may have witnessed any incident at that time is asked to call police on 612612 or to contact them anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
