He was charged along with his wife, Irina (55), who faces three alleged breaches of the Data Protection Law relating to dealings with Verite Trust Company.
Mrs Le Cornu pleaded not guilty to charges of knowingly or recklessly obtaining personal data and information regarding company accounts, financial reports and audits in the names of clients of the company.
It is further alleged she obtained the personal data of clients and also of employee timesheets without the consent of the relevant data controller. It is alleged she committed the offences between 30 May and 19 August 2016.
Meanwhile, Mr Cornu (59) denies a charge that on 18 October 2016, with intent to pervert the course of justice, he disclosed to another that he would only delete confidential information belonging to the company if they settled a claim in which his wife was a claimant.
Mr Le Cornu is a long-time political campaigner who stood unsuccessfully in a number of elections before winning a seat in St Helier No 1 with 248 votes during a by-election in March 2014.
He lost his seat in the general election in October that year, finishing fifth out of six candidates.
The case against the couple, who live at Havre des Pas, will be tried in the Magistrate’s Court and a pre-trial review hearing is scheduled for 24 January.
Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris released the couple on bail on the condition that they reside at their Havre des Pas flat.
