Ransoms Garden Centre in St. Martin transforms into a holiday wonderland — offering families, friends and visitors a joyful mix of festive activities, shopping, and seasonal cheer. Here’s your guide to what’s happening this Christmas.

Father Christmas Experience

Step into the “North Pole Station” and board the miniature Ransoms Express for a magical journey of snow, sparkle and festive wonder. Children meet elves, decorate a wooden gift to take home — and meet Father Christmas, who knows their name and this year’s achievements. Every child receives a book gift and a keepsake.

Singing Reindeer

Visit Santa’s Singing Reindeer in the “Nordic building” (near the kids’ toy area) — no ticket needed. The reindeer “sing” Christmas songs, creating a fun and festive atmosphere for all ages.

Santa’s Sleigh

Under a canopy in the outside plant area, you’ll find a beautifully decorated sleigh surrounded by winter foliage and a light arch: a perfect place for a festive photo. Cozy up with a blanket and pretend you’re off to the North Pole!

Pet Photo Corner

Bring your pet along! There’s a special setup in the pets department where you can snap a Christmas-themed photo of your furry friend by the sleigh — ideal for holiday cards.

Santa’s Post Box

Have some Christmas wishes or a letter for Santa? Drop it into the post box in the Nordic building (near the Singing Reindeer) — the elves at Ransoms will make sure it reaches Santa in time.

Christmas Shopping, Gifts & Home Décor

Beyond the festive fun, Ransoms turns into a seasonal shopping destination — perfect for picking up gifts, decorations, or a Christmas tree:

  • Their in-store Christmas Rooms display a variety of themed decorations and décor styles — from traditional red & gold to whimsical “snowy castle” themes, cosy countryside vibes, or colourful, fun “showtime” decorations.
  • You can pre-order fresh Christmas trees (or choose from artificial tree selection) to take home.
  • The on-site gift shop (The Potting Shed) and garden-centre aisles offer plants, pet-care items, gifts, homewares, and festive decorations, a good choice for gifts for friends, family, or pets.

Festive Treats & Tearoom Time

After browsing stalls and wandering through the festive displays, relaxing at the on-site tearoom is a lovely way to warm up. The tearoom serves homemade cakes, lunches, and all-day breakfasts, ideal for a cosy break during a busy shopping or family day out.

It’s also a perfect spot for families, especially if you have children needing a rest or something sweet after meeting Santa or checking out the reindeer.
