JERSEY REDS and Hartpury University will meet in a winner-takes-all Championship Cup quarter-final second-leg after finishing all square in their opener.

There was very little to choose between the two sides in the first of back-to-back Friday night clashes, with it finishing 19-19 after the Reds struggled to keep their half-time lead.

Harvey Biljon’s side will now look to use their home support advantage at Stade Santander on Friday 6 May to secure a semi-final spot.

The Islanders took an early lead when fullback Brendan Owen sprinted over.

Winger Alex Forrester leveled for Hartpury before two tries by Scott Van Breda in six minutes gave the black-shirted Reds a 19-7 lead after half an hour.

But fullback George Simpson scored for the Gloucestershire side just before half-time and replacement prop Lewis Holsey got the only try of the second-half in a tussling second 40 minutes.
