JERSEY REDS director of rugby Harvey Biljon will appear before a disciplinary panel this week following comments he made at the end of his side’s recent loss to Bedford Blues.

Biljon has been charged with ‘conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union and the game … relating to comments on the match official following games.’

Speaking to the JEP immediately after the Reds’ 28-19 away defeat to Bedford on Boxing Day, Biljon questioned the referee’s decision to send two of his players to the sin bin within 60 seconds of each other.

Biljon felt the decisions cost the Reds the game and he accused the matchday official, George Selwood, of ‘buckling’ under pressure.

More in Wednesday’s JEP.
