TEAM Jets return to Les Ormes tomorrow for two highly anticipated home fixtures, with the first and second teams both in action.

First up is the Team Jets 2 side, who welcome Mavericks Hawks for a 12pm start, with some familiar names returning to don the famous Jets kit.

Team Jets 1s will then take on Mavericks Eagles, set for a 2:30pm start.

The scarcity of home fixtures means local supporters rarely get the opportunity to see their netball stars in action, but this weekend’s fixtures provide a wonderful opportunity for those faithful fans to cheer both teams on in person.

The young Jets 2s currently sit top of the Regional League 3 North division, with nine wins from their 12 league games to date, while the Jets first team sit second in Regional League 1 after their defeat to Poole last weekend.

Tomorrow’s opponents Mavericks Eagles and Hawks both sit ninth in both Regional League 1 and 3 respectively.

However, Mavericks are a well-established club, with several branching teams performing well across other divisions.

Jets coach Emily Green expressed her excitement ahead of this weekend for Jersey Netball as a whole: “This weekend is going to be incredible.

“Home games for us are rare, so for our players across both squads to get the chance to show their skills in front of our incredible local fan base is going to be really special.

“The Jets 2 squad is always going to be a rotational squad. It has been designed to be a developmental pathway for girls, both young and experienced, to train, play and ultimately push for a first-team place.

“With that being said, we have a few players returning to court this weekend in the absence of some key players.

“Players like Maddie [Fitzgerald-Wilkins] and Emily [Le Gros] have now played their allocation of games for the 1s, meaning they are not allowed to play for the 2s from now on.

“This opens the door for some players to fill their spots and this weekend we are delighted to welcome back Jacy Brown and Leah Griffin, who of course are steeped in Team Jets history.

“Being able to call upon players with such experience is an incredible asset to have, as well as being so inspiring for our younger squad members.

“The first team will also be looking to bounce back after their loss last week, but the character in the group has been incredible over the last week and the girls are absolutely champing at the bit for this one.

“They know that every game is a must win now if we are to keep our promotion aspirations alive, so tomorrow is a huge clash for the 1s.

“I’m so excited for our fans to get to see just how far we have come and get to witness our up-and-coming stars grace the court and hopefully deliver an exciting game of netball and keep our momentum going.”

Team Jets 2 are scheduled for a 12pm start tomorrow, with the 1s set to follow them at 2:30pm, both at Les Ormes.
