THE latest weekend of Jersey Softball delivered another exciting round of matches, with the Ferryspeed Falcons narrowly edging out the Eagles in a thrilling encounter.
Meanwhile, 3CI Sport Flyers extended their undefeated run, maintaining their hold on second place, and Jacksons Phoenix put on a dominant display against newcomers Titans.
The Falcons edged out Eagles 63-32 in a thrilling match that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Eagles came out swinging, with Catherine Le Ruez hitting two home runs and captain Luke De La Cour delivering stand-out defensive plays at shortstop.
However, the Falcons responded with solid defence, including a remarkable triple play by AJ Blackwell, and timely offence to secure the win.
Flyers cruised to an 81-29 victory over the Giants, despite a spirited defensive effort from Giants’ Dom Martins and Sylvia Awori, who worked tirelessly to limit the Flyers’ scoring chances.
However, Flyers’ offensive stars Claudine Snape and Michelle Le Lion had a decisive batting performance, their contributions proving key to the win.
In the final game of the weekend, Phoenix demonstrated their strength with a dominant 97-34 victory over newcomers to the league, Titans.
Titans put up a solid defensive fight, with stand-out plays from shortstop Alex Monet, who also stepped in as pitcher, and Marianne Suguitan, who impressed at third base.
However, Phoenix’s Martin Powell was in superb form on the mound, leading his team with quick turnovers and a commanding presence throughout the game.
The indoor league continues with its next set of matches on 26 January.
