SAMARÈS pupil and snooker sensation Archie Greier has cued up a new partnership with CI Group.
The UK conservatory firm will support Greier as he continues to take the snooker world by storm playing at silver level in the national Cuestars league, against players almost double his age.
Greier claimed his first victory on the Cuestars U21 Bronze Tour in south London last year, at the age of nine. He trains at First Tower and has to use a cue extension to reach the centre of the table.
The sponsorship means that he will be supported as he vies for future titles, one of his recent being the Byfleet Trophy – of which he is the youngest ever winner – and the Individual League Two title, leading to him to represent Jersey in the annual inter-insular competition.
Howard Greier, Archie’s father, expressed his gratitude for CI Group’s partnership. “We’re incredibly grateful to CI Group for their support. As any parent of a young athlete knows, the costs associated with training, travel, equipment and competitions are significant, especially in a sport like snooker.
The pair travel to the UK on average once a month for competitions. “Partnerships like this are crucial for helping us ensure Archie has the resources he needs to continue to grow and improve,” Mr Greier added.
Chris Cash, Sales Director, CI Group commented on sponsoring Archie: “The partnership with Archie felt like a natural fit, given his remarkable achievements and his potential to inspire the next generation of snooker players on Jersey.
“At CI Group, we believe in supporting the local community and nurturing young talent. “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for us to help Archie continue to develop his skills and pursue his passion for snooker, while also demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the Island.”
