JERSEY Bulls have confirmed that tonight’s away fixture against Bedfont Sports will be streamed free on YouTube after the club received sponsorship from Bloomsbury Money.
The Bulls had announced earlier this week that their away matches would no longer be publicly streamed, with coverage instead available exclusively at the Bulls Bar at Springfield.
The decision prompted a number of supporters to share their disappointment, with concerns raised by fans who are unable to travel to mainland fixtures, including families and off-island supporters.
The club has now confirmed that tonight’s 7.45pm fixture will be available on its YouTube channel thanks to the support of Bloomsbury Money.
The Bulls said the sponsorship will allow “off-Island fans, families and anyone who can’t get to Springfield” to continue following the team.
The club added that its original decision to host away streams at Springfield was intended to strengthen its matchday community rather than exclude supporters.
“Any sporting organisation needs to both rely on its community of fans for support and to balance its books so that it can keep growing,” the club said.
“Every bit of profit made by the club is invested directly back into our teams to help build towards something bigger – and we want all of our supporters along for that journey.”
Tonight’s fixture will also be shown live at the Bulls Bar, with the club encouraging supporters to watch there alongside fellow fans.
The Bulls have reduced the price of a number of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and was continuing to look at ways of creating an inviting atmosphere for away fixtures.
The club is now seeking further commercial partners to help keep its men’s and women’s team streams free and accessible to supporters beyond tonight’s match.
