INCOMING Jersey Bulls manager Elliot Powell will have the mouthwatering prospect of welcoming Manchester United Legends to Springfield Stadium this summer.
The Legends will feature a selection of United stars from the eighties, nineties and noughties, and include a number of international footballers who have won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup, with some even playing under the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
Already confirmed to make the journey is former England international and double Champions League winner Wes Brown, whose impressive resumé includes 13 trophies with five Premier League Titles and two UEFA Champions Leagues.
Joining Brown is Keith Gillespie, who only appeared a handful of times for the Red Devils at the start of his career, but would go on to make over a century of appearances for both Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers, as well as 97 for Sheffield United.
The winger also turned out 86 times at international level for Northern Ireland.
Fellow Northern Irishman Sammy McIlroy will also play alongside Gillespie.
The 69-year-old’s staggering career saw him appear 342 times for Manchester United, while bagging 57 goals over an 11-year spell.
The midfielder also became a mainstay of the Northern Ireland side, earning 88 caps with five international goals.
Lee Martin, Clayton Blackmore, Danny Simpson and Chris Eagles have also been announced, with many more to follow.
The fixture is due to get underway at 2pm on 6 July at Jersey Bulls’ home ground, with tickets available via jbfc.ticketco.events/uk/en/e/jersey_v_man_u.
Further opportunities are available for fans to manage the sides or even play a part in the match.
