JERSEY BULLS are back in Combined Counties Premier Division South action tomorrow, as they welcome Colliers Wood United to Springfield Stadium

The fixture marks their second this week after a late penalty from Lorne Bickley earned them a 2-1 win away against Epsom & Ewell on Tuesday.

Gary Freeman’s side currently sit in fourth place comfortably wedged in the play-off places, with two games in hand over Abbey Rangers in third, while only a point adrift of their promotion rivals.

Conversely, their opponents languish at the other end of the table, propping up the division with just three league wins this season, from a possible 25.

The reverse fixture back in September of last year saw Bulls run out comfortable 3-0 winners away to the Wimbledon-based side.

Bulls skipper James Querée was pleased with his team’s resilience to get over the line against Epsom, but knows every game in the division provides a challenge.

“When you’re playing this level, you don’t want to look at the league table with too much interest,” he said.

“Sure it’s useful for noticing teams’ current form and placings, but we know when teams travel to Jersey it’s a fixture they really want to win.

“We’re aware of our own recent form and where we need to improve. Tuesday was a good result for us because we had to grind out that victory. It was an important momentum builder for us.”

The visit of Colliers Wood could provide the perfect tonic for a Bulls side – who have been short of goals at times this season – to make a statement, especially with star striker Bickley back in form with three goals in his last two games.

Querée added: “Having Lorne on form is crucial for us. He’s a confident guy and a great striker so when he’s on it we know we have a great chance of scoring goals and he’ll be full of confidence come tomorrow.

“We want to expect three points from every game we play, but this level is difficult.

“Colliers Wood will throw everything at us, they’ve got nothing to lose in their position. We’ll have to be on our game in front of our home supporters.”

Victory for the Islanders could see them move into third place in the league, with Abbey Rangers travelling for a tricky away day to Horley Town.

Freeman will be looking for his team to make the most of their lower-placed opposition this weekend, with back-to-back challenging away fixtures impending against Fleet Town and Knaphill.

Action from Springfield Stadium is set to get underway at 4pm tomorrow.

Jersey Bulls Squad to be selected from: Pierce Roche, Euan Van Der Vliet, Frank Tobin, Harry Curtis, James Carr, James Querée, Luke Campbell, Ben Le Rougetel, Joe Kilshaw, Jonny Le Quesne, Kamen Nafkha, Luke Watson, Ruben Mendes, Francis Lekimamati, Fraser Barlow, Lorne Bickley, Miguel Carvalho, Odinaka Nwokoro.
