GARY FREEMAN’S Bulls overcame an early setback away to Abbey Rangers to win the contest 3-1.

The Caesarean side found themselves a goal down inside the first 30 seconds when Charlie Postance capitalised on some sloppy Bulls defending to steer his shot past Pierce Roche.

The Islanders showed some resolve, and after 15 minutes they were level.

Sol Soloman swung in a freekick from the left-hand side as Harry Curtis rose best to glance his near post header into the far corner.

The game stayed tied until the 58th minute. Lorne Bickley was the beneficiary of some strong work from Fraser Barlow to maintain possession, before threading a pass through to the centre-forward, who made no mistakes with his first sight at goal.

Bickley doubled his tally on 79 minutes, when Rangers number one Sam Freeman gambled out his area to close down a pass over the top.

The Jerseyman won the duel and slotted into an empty net.
