MILESTONES have come thick and fast for Jersey Bulls of late.

Last Tuesday, it was a pair of half-centuries at Molesey, as the club chalked up their 50th league victory while winger Fraser Barlow made his 50th appearance.

Four days later, it was the turn of club captain James Quérée to reach the same mark – against a familiar foe. It would not be marked with a win, as the Islanders settled for a 1-1 home draw against Farnham Town, but the occasion was not lost on the 31-year-old.

‘For it to come against Farnham is quite cool,’ Quérée said.

‘They came up with us in the first season we had [from CCL Division I] and we have both come some way.

‘Obviously it was disappointing to concede in the second half and not grab the full three points, but they have a lot of top teams still to play.

‘It might end up being a good point earned.

‘It’s important to take the emotion out of the game. The fans were fantastic again and we always want to get the job done for them. However, it is a long season, we are going to drop points; everyone will.’

Farnham – unbeaten in five league games following seven losses in the previous nine – became just the second team to take points away from Springfield, following Walton & Hersham’s 4-4 at the same venue in November 2021.

The Bulls won 27 league games from 27 in their debut campaign of 2019/20 and claimed another four in 2020/21, before that run was cancelled, too. They have 19 victories alongside their name so far this term, as they work towards completing their first full season in the English footballing pyramid.
