ASA TRIBE has reached a superb century for Glamorgan in their Rothesay County Championship fixture against Surrey.
Glamorgan endured a difficult start to the fixture after being bundled out for just 132 on the opening day, but they finished day one in the green after a remarkable bowling performance saw them turn the star-studded Surrey line up over for just 115.
With an unlikely 17-run lead heading into the second innings, Tribe completed his fifth First Class century.
Alongside opening partner Zain ul Hassan, the pair added 87 for the first wicket before Tribe combined well with his skipper Kiran Carlson at number four.
The pair added 114 for the third wicket, Carlson himself making a composed half century.
At the time of writing, Glamorgan sit 241-3, a lead of 258 with seven wickets remaining.
Tribe was heavily tipped for a potential England test call up before the summer, however he missed out on the openers spot to Durham batter Emilio Gay.
Since then, Tribe has endured a fairly lean run compared to the dazzling numbers he was producing.
This knock however, which so far has included 11 boundaries, will go a long way to re-igniting both his own personal form and Glamorgan’s as a club heading into the final fixtures of the County Championship season.
