Registration has opened for next year’s Hospice Half Marathon, with organisers expecting the popular charity event to be bigger than ever following a record turnout in 2026.
The race returns on Sunday 21 March, with early bird entries available throughout August. Professional services firm EY will sponsor the event for a fifth consecutive year.
Nearly 900 runners took part in this year’s race, raising almost £60,000 for Jersey Hospice Care. Organisers have now increased the field for 2027 after making a slight adjustment to the route, which will bypass St Ouen’s Village while retaining the scenic course through the lanes of St Ouen, St Mary and St John before finishing at Jersey Hospice Care on Mont Cochon.
Alongside the individual half marathon, competitors can enter a two-person relay, with corporate mixed teams automatically competing for the EY Corporate Cup.
EY partner Francis Malaspina said the firm was proud to continue supporting an event that raises vital funds for the charity.
“It’s been wonderful to watch the event grow into such a special fixture in Jersey’s sporting calendar. Seeing runners challenge themselves, often for deeply personal reasons, while raising money for such an important cause is inspiring and a powerful reminder of what our community can achieve together,” he said.
The race has raised more than £250,000 for Jersey Hospice Care since its launch, helping fund services that cost around £18,000 a day to provide.
Race director Loraine Fulton said the event continued to attract both experienced runners and first-time half marathon participants.
“Our running community has so much affection for the Hospice Half. We welcome many familiar faces each year, but it’s also a fantastic event for anyone looking to complete their first half marathon,” said Fulton.
Early bird entry costs £45 for the half marathon and £55 for the two-person relay until 31 August, rising to £50 and £60 respectively from 1 September. Entries close on 14 March 2027.
