For Robbie, the Games are a chance to apply his artistic intent to a new subject.
“I’m not traditionally a sports photographer even when I used to shoot a lot of surfing. My intentions have always been artistic so it will be interesting to apply this perspective to the Games. I will be looking to capture not only the “peak” action but the quiet moments in-between and hopefully give people a new, refreshing perspective on the action.”
The one to watch
Asked who he is most excited to see live, Robbie explains how he is more looking forward to soaking in the Games atmosphere.
“For me I don’t have a specific individual but am more excited about experiencing the collective atmosphere of the event.”
The dark horse
Robbie is backing a familiar name who’s not a stranger to making waves in the swimming category.
“It will be to cool to see Filip Nowacki swim as I have not met him but heard a lot of good things.”
The prediction
So what is his Team Jersey prediction? For Robbie, it’s about the bigger picture.
“I am not qualified to make any accurate predictions, ha! My hope for the Commonwealth Games is simply that it promotes a sense of unity and togetherness just as the World Cup has had a way of bringing us all together.”
