For Archie, Glasgow 2026 is a first, and he’s determined to soak up every moment of it.
“I’m really excited to watch our homegrown athletes compete on one of the biggest stages in international sport,” he said. “It’ll be a new experience for me as well as for many of the athletes, so I’m looking forward to taking it all in and hopefully witnessing some memorable moments.”
The one to watch
Asked who he is most excited to see live, Archie didn’t need long to think about it.
“Filip Nowacki. That is not a man, that is a fish.”
The dark horse
Away from the pool, Archie is tipping Jersey’s bowlers to make waves of their own.
“I’m expecting the Jersey bowls team to quietly go about their business. They consistently perform on the big stage and I wouldn’t be surprised if they come away with some excellent results.”
The prediction
So what is his Team Jersey prediction?
“I think they’ll give a great account of themselves and really embrace the occasion. We know how much hard work has gone into getting there, and while the experience itself will be special, I’m sure a few of them can make a real impact against top-class opposition.”
