Jersey's Under-16's won 5-0 to secure junior Muratti honours at Victoria Park Picture: DAVID FERGUSON

JERSEY’S Under-16s delivered a commanding performance to reclaim the Muratti Vase with a 5-0 victory over Guernsey at Victoria Park.

John Lloyd’s side made the perfect start, taking the lead inside two minutes when Martin McLaughlin powered home a header to settle any early nerves on away soil.

Jersey quickly asserted their dominance and doubled their advantage through Jason Da Silva, who calmly converted from the penalty spot after Ethan Crompton was brought down in the box.

With confidence flowing, Gus Dorosz added a third before the break to put daylight between the sides and effectively end the contest as a spectacle.

Guernsey, who had edged last year’s final, struggled to contain Jersey’s intensity and attacking quality, and the visitors continued to press after the interval.

Cameron Scott made it four with a well-taken header midway through the second half, before substitute Luke Stanley capped an emphatic display with a fifth late on.

Victory completes a clean sweep of junior Muratti honours for Jersey this season.
