ROYALS RFC welcome sixth-placed Lewes to Grainville Playing Fields tomorrow for their tenth game of the Counties 2 Sussex season.

The men in blue ended the year with just one win to their name this campaign, but a visit from Lewes might be well timed, especially with the return of captain Tristan Burns to the starting XV.

The Royals ended 2025 with their first win, a solid 37-10 away victory over struggling Crawley, but followed it up with a 49-5 defeat by East Grinstead last weekend.

The return of their skipper, alongside experienced heads of Brian Njomba, Cameron Queree and vice-captain Pearse Moloney, to name a few, the Royals seem primed to land a big statement win.

The reverse of this fixture saw Lewes take the win, a fairly safe 26-7 win at home.
Burns and company will know they are getable however, having lost more games than they have won this season.

Lewes are hanging off the back of a humbling themselves last weekend, however, when they were swept aside 6-47 at home by the juggernaut that is the undefeated Pulborough side.

Action from Grainville Playing Fields is scheduled tomorrow for a 2pm start.
