JERSEY swimming prodigy Filip Nowacki’s recent performance at the Swim England National Winter Championships has placed him as Britain’s fourth-fastest men’s short-course 50m breaststroke swimmer of all time.
December has been a successful period for the 18-year-old Caesarean, as the young star reached his first senior final in the Men’s 200m Breast event of the European Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships.
Following that milestone, Nowacki was back in action to compete at the Swim England National Winter Championships last weekend, where he starred in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke heats to stop the clock at 26.31s, a time that places him behind only Archie Goodburn, Ross Murdoch and eight-time World Champion, Adam Peaty.
He’ll certainly have his sights set on continuing his ascent up the board, with Olympian and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Ross Murdoch, as well as European Short Course Championships silver medallist Archie Goodburn both tied in second place, just above him with times of 26.26 seconds.
