THE Jersey Football Association has announced a special Christmas community initiative, designed to support Islanders who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation during the festive period.

Using the power of football to bring people together, the free afternoon kick-about for adults (16+) of all ages and abilities, will encourage conversation and gentle football activity.

Attendees are welcome to take part in the small-sided football games, but those who prefer can simply come along for a chat, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and grab a mince pie.

JFA chairman Jimmy Kelly said: “The event reflects the JFA’s ongoing commitment to using football as a force for good. We know Christmas is a difficult period for some, and this relaxed gathering on Monday marks the next part of our work supporting wellbeing, inclusion and community connection across the Island.”

People do not need to register in advance. Islanders can simply turn up at Les Quennevais from 1.30pm on Monday.

Local charities may wish to enter a small team and can find more information by contacting football development officer Luke Appleton on luke.appleton@jerseyfa.com.
