WET weather wiped out the headline Premiership 1 fixture this weekend, as the much-anticipated top-of-the-table meeting between Jersey Wanderers and St Clement was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. But elsewhere, the island’s football schedule delivered more drama.

Premiership 2

Trinity First produced one of the performances of the weekend with a 5-1 victory over St Lawrence First.

Gabriel Madeiros fired a superb hat-trick to put Trinity in control before Harry Henderson and Layton Tucker struck late to seal the points. Graham Hickey netted the consolation for St Lawrence.

Championship 1

Two sides searching for momentum met as St Brelade Reserves claimed a convincing 4-1 win over St Peter Reserves, showing renewed composure after their slow start to the campaign.

An Alex Kilpatrick brace with added goals from Jack Gibson and Stephen McDonald secured an important three points for St Brelade.

Championship 2

A chaotic first half decided the contest at Les Quennevais, where St John Reserves beat First Tower United 4-2.

All six goals came before the break, with Harmon Onyango opening for the hosts, only for James Pike to reply instantly.

Further strikes from Jeremy Johnson, Leonardo Pereira, and Manuel Skowron put St John firmly in command. Steven Irvine pulled one back for Tower, but it wasn’t enough as St John climbed three points clear and into third place.

It was even more frenetic elsewhere in the division as Trinity Reserves edged Grouville C 5-4 in a nine-goal thriller.

Trinity’s scorers were Bryan Kiama, Malcolm Nkhoma, Sean Maguire, Miguel Goncalves, and Shayan Menezes, helping them leapfrog their opponents into fifth.

JFA Bowl – Second Round

A first-half Stewart Daynes hat-trick powered St Ouen Reserves to a 4-1 win over Sports Club of Jersey.

Stephen Coleman wrapped up the scoring in stoppage time, while Clife Silva struck the lone goal for Sports Club.

St Clement Reserves also progressed in style, dispatching Rozel Rovers Reserves 5-0. Goals came from Louis Guillard, Joshua Hinds, Taylor Roche, Adam Falle, and Jered Kelly.

Jersey Dog Club Challenge Cup – Quarter-Final

A strong second-half surge sent St Ouen C through with a 4-1 victory over St Paul’s Reserves.

A brace from Jack Happer, supported by goals from Daniel Durell and James McMillan, ensured their place in the semi-finals.

JFA Cup – Second Round

Thursday night provided yet another nine-goal spectacle as Madeira edged Trinity First 5-4 at Les Quennevais.

The match was illuminated by a sensational Diogo Velosa display, as the forward scored four for Madeira, with Michael De Barros adding the fifth.

Trinity pushed them all the way, with Riley Brennan netting twice in the first half and Zach Martin and Harry Henderson also contributing.
