JERSEY Bulls Women return to Springfield tomorrow afternoon for a 2pm kick-off against Horley Town, aiming to extend their perfect start to life in the South East Counties Womens Football League.
Five wins from five have placed the Bulls at the top of the table, and momentum is firmly with them after statement victories against two of their closest rivals. A 7-1 demolition of Milford & Witley was followed by a composed 4-2 win over Meadow Sports, results that have underlined their early title credentials.
Head coach Chad Morris insists the approach does not change despite the winning run.
“It’s the same as usual,” he said. “We haven’t got footage on Horley, so all we can go off is their league position and stats. We’ll go on the front foot, try to work out their strengths and weaknesses, and adjust accordingly.”
The Bulls’ attacking threat has been one of their defining features so far. Captain Holly Sundby and Anita Tavares lead the scoring charts with seven goals each, while Leah Morris has added six of her own.
Morris believes the spread of goals is a major asset, stating: “The good thing is we’re not relying on one player, we’ve got goals coming from four or five different players, which gives us options and makes us harder to stop.”
Those options will increase further this weekend. The Bulls welcome back Ella Brennand, Sam Silva and Emily Le Page, all of whom missed the Meadow Sports win.
Also, sixteen-year-old forward Amy Guthrie, from the Bulls Academy, is also in the squad and could make her senior debut.
“Having another number nine gives us more possibilities going forward,” said Morris. “It might allow us to tweak the formation and offer something different.”
Home advantage has played a meaningful role in the Bulls’ strong start, with Springfield attendances comfortably surpassing expectations for a debut-season side.

Morris praised the home support, saying: “We get around 250 spectators a match, which is brilliant, you’ve got great support in the main stand, the mascots making noise, and the bullpen. It makes a big difference for us at home.”
“We get really good numbers, but obviously you always want more,” Morris explained as he calls for extra support tomorrow afternoon.
Horley Town arrive in mid-table and have shown enough in tight matches to pose a threat if underestimated. This is also Horley Town’s inaugural season at this level, with the Surrey side still finding their feet as a newly formed squad.
The visitors have turned out winners in their previous four fixtures, so their run of form will increase their confidence.
But with the Bulls unbeaten, refreshed, and growing in depth and confidence, Sunday presents another opportunity to strengthen their position at the top.
A sixth straight victory would keep their 100% record intact and further cement their status as early frontrunners in the division.
